09-28-09:

Pet Sounds - By Scape White
As part of his studies at London's prestigious Rock Institute of Rock, Scapie will be producing a track every month or so, and providing them here for your downloading pleasure. Take them freely, and rock them whereever you go.

08-17-09:

Rhapsody on Uke NEW! - By Jordan D. White
Having purchased a ukulele, Jordan set out to re-record all the wax-work theme songs on his new uke. Recording one per episode of the Cast In Wax podcast, new uke covers of the songs will be uploaded here as they exist. Doesn't everything sound happier on the uke?

08-18-08:

  • 21st episode of Cast in Wax is up, of course.
  • The remastering of Rhapsody in Wax is complete! Every song I've recorded for it now sounds better than ever, with an all new mix (including Theme I, which has not been on the podcast yet, since it is not Christmas).
  • Plus, there are 4 songs with extra bonus versions:
    • Theme E has the "studio version".
    • Theme P has a version in my normal voice.
    • Theme U has an alternate recording of the same song, but with completely different instrumentation and vocals.
    • and Theme N has an entirely different song, never before on the site! It was the original version of theme N, which I scrapped before beginning the one we all know and love!

05-26-08:

05-12-08:

  • Seventh episode of Cast in Wax is up, duh.
  • Began putting up the remastered Rhapsody in Wax tracks, which are being remastered for use as intros to the podcast.
  • Also began putting up the new remastered first season episodes of Tract or Fiction? and Decker & Hayes, also being remastered for the podcast.

The Premiere of Cast in Wax!

03-08-08:

It's been a while, but things are heating up, and getting started.

I established the podcast section, and announced the official start date of the podcast as March 31st, the day before wax-work's 6th anniversary.

I changed the format of the Guard Duty Pictures and added new characters.

I re-reupdated my Bio.

I changed the side menu a lot, as well as the front page, adding a welcome picture, and stuff.

Like, I said, though, the big news is the podcast starting. The idea is to do the podcast weekly, updateing every Monday Morning / Sunday Night after the 31st of March. We'll be repackaging all the old Welcome to the Wax-Work shows (except Saint Red). It should be a blast.

09-01-07:

A few months have passed, and things are quite different for your humble webmaster. I now live in New York City, and life is generally very changed. I thought it was about time to come clean up the last few scraps of Wax-Radio that were still lingering.

First of all, I've finally finished up This Day In History. That's right- every single day is now accounted for! Three-hundred-sixty-six tiny little improv games, some great, some... not great. I'm excited. Oh, and in case you're wondering which ones just went up, they're July 21st - September 16th, and March 23rd.

Secondly, I tweaked more of the Radio section to reflect that it's pretty much over. No more "newest additions" part on the radio page, for example. No need.

I put up a Bonus Tracks page, collecting all the radio bonus bits from the various projects. They're all still on the individual project pages, too, but I wanted to add the their own page. Also, I added two fun little Mr. Fahrenheit clips from Frank Allen's news show in the Guard Duty Universe. They're on the Bonus page and the Guard Duty page.

Oh, and I finally revised my Bio.

For those of you wondering when the next phase of wax-work.com will be starting... well, I don't have anything to announce yet, but rest assured, I am thinking about it. I need a little more time to settle in before I decide for certain. I'm waiting to hear on a job that means a lot to me, but once I'm working regularly and fall into a schedule, wax-work will be one of my top priorities. It will return. Rest assured.

06-19-07:

It's been about a month since Welcome to the Wax-work ended, and I have to say, I miss it greatly. It hasn't necessarily sunken in 100% yet, since this is just like the summer breaks of the last few years. Only difference is, it won't be back come fall.

At any rate, I've finally come back to give you a few of the promised "Bonus Tracks", as well as the MP3s of Ultimate Debatitorium, and a few more eps of This Day in History. This is one of the last updates of Welcome to the Wax-Work material we have left. A few more Days in History, and that will be it.

Let's get to it!

  • Ultimate Debatitorium
Lord Vanton Zest vs. President Byron Samuels

Ultimate Debatitorium pitted the Debatiator of the Year 2006 against the Debatiator of the year 2007, asking them the Ultimate (open ended) Question... Why? Changing things up a little, however... we recorded two endings to the debate, allowing both competitors to have their chance to "win". We also offer a third version which includes both endings.
  • This Day In History
    June 15th - July 20th
Just over a month's worth of TDIH, getting us caught up with the now. Only July 21st - September 16th remain unedited. That's less than two months worth. I can do that soon. I hope.
  • Debatirorium Theme - based on the opening of the Nutcracker's Overture by Piotr Tchaikovsky, and arranged by Michael "Temporary Card" Makowski & Jordan D. White.
  • Epic Echoes End Theme - by Michael "Temporary Card" Makowski
Recorded especially for the last episode of Epic Echoes, this is also from the "War of the Insects" piece, but from the very ending. Apparently, the ants win the war. It made a nice ending to the show.
  • Frank Allen Interview - Towards the end of Debatitorium 2006, Frank Allen appeared on Charles Berman's "Bronze Age of Radio" radio program. This illuminating interview gives a rare behind-the-scenes look into the working of the man behind the debates.
  • Jordan, Frank, & Rory Farewell - From the end of the very last Welcome to the Wax-work, this is Jordan D. White, Frank Allen, & Rory St. John's farewell to the series.
  • Jordan on 'Way of the Master Radio' - Not actually part of our wax radio bits, I called up the Way of the Master Radio show just to chat. It's an evangelical Christian show. I am an atheist- or, as they helped me discover, a born-again atheist.
  • Like Mother Opening Theme - by Jordan D. White
Originally written as a pop song entitled "Delicate", I think this works much better as the theme to Like Mother Like Daughter. This is the version that starts every show...
  • Like Mother Closing Theme - by Jordan D. White
...and this is the version that ends every show. There are only minor differences.
  • Spinning With Evil (This Day in History Theme) - based on "The Spinning Song" by Albert Ellmenreich, Michael "Temporary Card" Makowski altered it to be in a minor key rather than major, then Jordan D. White added the drum part.

Like I said... I would say just one or two more updates of Days in History, and this stage of Wax-Work projects will be complete. What will be next for Jordan D. White and for wax-work.com? I can't say, for sure. We'll be moving to Forest Hills, Queens on August 1st, starting a whole new phase of life. Who knows where my "All-Original Creative Projects" will go from there.

05-15-07:

Wow. This is it- the last episode of the Welcome to the Wax-Work radio show. Yeah, sure, voer the next few weeks I'll have a couple of bonus tracks and the rest of This Day in History to put up here... but, for the most part, this is it. This is the end of all our scripted radio serials... forever. I cannot tell you how much I am going to miss them, and how much they mean to me. Thanks to everyone who has listened, and helped make these things possible.

  • Debatitorium 2007
    Episode 11: Evolution
President Byron Samuels vs. Perfect Pitch

Did man evolve from other types of creature through a process of natural selection? It's a complicated issue... an issue that can only be solved by the Debatiator of the Year 2007! And don't forget- next week, we'll have Ultimate Debatitorium, where this year's winner goes up against last year's!
  • Epic Echoes: The Backwards Series, Series Four
Episode 11: Chosen Sacrifice, The Series Premiere
    by Jordan D. White
What were the fateful events that lead up to the Death of Julie Crenshaw? How did the Flashpack's first casualty come about? The Epic Echoes sound for the first time in this, the series premiere of the backwards sci-fi adventure series!

    Episode 11: Finally
    By Jordan D. White

Starring The Stallion & The Argus
It's fiftieth and final episode of Guard Duty, and the Earth Guard is not doing so well. Will the series end with the teams utter demise?
  • Like Daughter
    Episode 11: Regeneration
    by Jordan D. White
Pandora Darling started on a journey when she walked in on her mother, the killer. Where will she end up? Will she defeat CASK? Will she have Bobby by her side? Questions are answered and answers are questioned in this series finale.

Of course, the original scripts for each episode has been put up as well.

Thanks for listening.

05-08-07:

05-01-07:

Mayday! I'm doing a middle of the night update rather than a midday one and I'm very tired! Why I am I doing this? I have no idea. I could just wait the twelve hours to do it at the normal time, but I'm already almost done, now, so I might as well finish it up. This is the third-to-last episode of wax-work, "Episode 609", in production-speak. 611 will be the last one. Lots of developements in these episodes, lots of twists and unexpected turns as we near the end of all things wax-radio (or the beginning, in Epic Echoes' case). Let's get to it!

And of course, the original scripts for each episode has been put up as well.

Remember, new episodes can be heard Fridays, 2:30-4PM, live on the air of 90.5 FM if you're in Binghamton, NY, or webcast over the WHRW Website.

04-24-07:

So... last night we had our final recording session for "Welcome to the Wax-Work"... ever. We've finished recording the series finales for all our shows (and premiere of Epic Echoes). It's a bittersweet feeling. On the one hand, I'm really proud of everything we did, and am very excited to get the ends of these series out there for everyone. On the other hand, I will miss these series so much...

But enough of that! The show's not over yet! We still have multiple episodes to broadcast and put up on the web! Let's get started on this week's wax-work!

04-17-07:

Hey, everyone! We're back again after another school break, during which we had no new episodes. That is, however, the last break between now and the end of all our radio shows. Episodes 7-11 should come weekly and all regular-like. And those of you wondering about This Day in History, don't worry- those are being recorded as well, but because they're all for days that won't be coming for a while, I've given these shows priority. They will get done, though, sooner or later.

12-12-06:

Hey everyone! Well, I sort of dropped the ball here, in my recovery from sickness. I did not upload the last two episodes of Wax-Work, so here we are with a double shot. Two episodes at once of all our favourite shows! That's twice the listening pleasure in one fell swoop. Let's get to it.

We'll be back next semester with all new episode of all these shows, so keep your eyes on the site for an announcement of the date and time we'll return!

11-19-06:

Hi there, folks... sorry this is late. I am posting this from the depths of sickness. I am struck down with a horrible debilitating cold, while my wife has a fever. That, combined with wrapping up the recording for the semester has lead to this being late. Sorry for the lateness. I don't, however, think the quality is down at all. I am very proud of these eps. But no, no exclamation points today. Too sick.

Remember, new episodes can be heard Thursdays, 8:30-10PM, live on the air of 90.5 FM if you're in Binghamton, NY, or webcast over the WHRW Website.

ALSO: I'm on Coverville. Coverville is a podcast that only plays covers. They put out an open call for this thing they call "Coverville Idol", and asked for covers of songs from 1986. I did a cover of the R.E.M. song "Fall On Me" (which you can download here). You can find the episode I am on here, and you can vote for a winner. I would, of course, not ask anyone to just vote for me, but you can listen to the whole thing, and vote honestly. Thanks!

11-09-06:

Hey, everybody! We're certainly moving into the final stretch here with episode 508 of Welcome to the Wax-work. Only three more after this; one next week, a break for Thanksgiving, then the final two episodes. There's a lot of excitement building in the series, and lots of surprises in store from here on out.

And of course, the original scripts for each episode has been put up as well.

Remember, new episodes can be heard Thursdays, 8:30-10PM, live on the air of 90.5 FM if you're in Binghamton, NY, or webcast over the WHRW Website.

Moving into the second half of the season, we're back for Welcome to the Wax-Work episode 507. 10-26-06:

This is the midpoint episode of this season of wax-work, the same number of episodes before and after. If you listen to two of the series, for this week, you'll be exactly halfway through the season. Pretty exciting, huh? Sadly, there is no This Day In History this week, as I've fallen behind on editing them. Not to worry, we're ahead, datewise, so you can still listen to every day as it comes.

  • Debatitorium 2006
    Episode 6: Monkey vs. Robot
    Lord Zest vs. Good Hitler

The second round of debates opens with a slightly lighter topic, the classic debate of monkey vs. robot. Which would win, if they were to fight? What does it mean if you say "ass" too much? You'll be surprised to learn, I bet.

10-12-06:

The Fourth Episode comes on in, and it is some good stuff. All these episodes are pretty sweet, if you ask me. Sweeter than the sugary taste of stolen candy, freshly snatched from a baby's delicate fingers. Except, this is an ear taste. As in, you taste it with your ears. Or "hear" it, I suppose. Enjoy!

And of course, the original scripts for each episode has been put up as well.

Episode two of season five of Welcome to the Wax-Work, and we are feeling very good. We've recorded the fourth episodes of every show, and I've edited these, the second episodes, and let me tell you, the season is off to a good start. The new shows are really living up to the expectations of quality, and while we miss Decker & Hayes and Tract or Fiction?, these new additions are great additions.

And of course, the original scripts for each episode has been put up as well.

Remember, new episodes can be heard Thursdays, 8:30-10PM, live on the air of 90.5 FM if you're in Binghamton, NY, or webcast over the WHRW Website.

09-22-06:

Welcome to the Wax-Work returns to the air and net waves for our fifth season, and we are certainly hitting the ground running. We have two returning series, two new series, and, of course, a continuation of our educational historical program. That sounds like something for everybody, if you ask me! The shows all premiere on Thursday nights, from 8:30-10PM on WHRW Binghamton. Hey, that's our original slot from seasons 1 and 2! And you can listen live on the internet on the WHRW website. As such, I think I'll be updating the site here on Thursday nights / Friday Mornings from here on out. And I MAY be able to get podcasting up in the next week, so no one misses an episode! Exciting. Anyway, without further ado, on to the shows!

  • Debatitorium 2006
    Episode 1: The Iraq War
    Lord Zest vs. Dr. Parsis

In this all new series, Tract or Fiction? host Frank Allen returns to solve all of our problems, one debate at a time. In this first episode, we have one debator from the past and one from the future, arguing over the rightness of the war in Iraq. The entire season will be tournement-style, so the winner of each show will be debating for the title later in the season! Exciting! Very silly!
  • Epic Echoes: The Backwards Series, Series Three
Episode 1: The End of the Beginning
    by Guenevere Eckert
The "series finale" of this season brings the end of the Flashpack's epic journey through time, fighting the threat of the Vampiros. Exactly how will they stop the fiends for good? And what are the Vampiros, anyway? Plus, ever wonder why Keane is so testy with Molly? Find out here!

White Noise - By Jordan D. White
NEW 8-18-06: Fall On Me
Jordan D. White does a handful of odd covers, some in fully orchestrated a cappella, some with keyboard. Good fun to be had for free. Recorded especially to enter Coverville's Coverville Idol, this R.E.M. song has just been added!

05-08-06:

The final episode of the season, and it's jam-packed with wonder! I think you'll enjoy it. I wrote all the episodes this week, as the season finale, and I'm very proud of them all. Two of these are series finales as well, so you should really check them all out. We will miss Decker & Hayes and Tract or Fiction, but I promise you we will replace them with all new series next time that you will really dig. We've been talking about them, and I'm already excited. So, anyway... enjoy!

And of course, the original scripts for each episode has been put up as well.

An Epic Echoes Marathon, all episodes from the first & second series in reverse (and therefore chronological) order, will be broadcast on Tuesday, May 16th, 1pm-7pm on WHRW Binghamton. You can listen in on the radio in the Binghamton area at 90.5 FM, or on the internet on the WHRW site.

Three episodes left (including this one) and things are really going well. Two of the four shows are going to be ending for good, so that's pretty crazy. We've actually already recorded everything for the semester, now it's just a matter of me editing and releasing everything. I think everything will go well and on schedule. I am excited.

Happy Four Year Anniversary, wax-work.com! It was four years ago, on April the 1st 2002, that this site first graced the net. Now here we are, four years later. Is the site still the same? Not quite- there was no inkling of radio serials in my mind back when we began. I am very happy with the way things have gone though. For now, here's this week's radio series!

Remember, new episodes can be heard Mondays, 11:30AM-1PM, live on the air of 90.5 FM if you're in Binghamton, NY, or webcast over the WHRW Website.

3-27-06:

3-20-06:

The Amazing Fifth Episode of Welcome to the Wax-Work is here, and it's read to kick your butt all over the place. That is what five means in latin, right? Butt-kicker? I think so. Because we knew there would be so much butt kicking from the episode in general, we tried to keep the butt-kicking out of the plots of the shows to even it out. Maybe.

And of course, the original scripts for each episode has been put up as well.

Remember, new episodes can be heard Mondays, 11:30AM-1PM, live on the air of 90.5 FM if you're in Binghamton, NY, or webcast over the WHRW Website.

2-27-06:

The third episode of the season comes on like a... shotgun... and leaves like a... horseshoe. I think that's an old phrase. Am I wrong? Maybe. Good new episodes, though.

And of course, the original scripts for each episode has been put up as well.

Remember, new episodes can be heard Mondays, 11:30AM-1PM, live on the air of 90.5 FM if you're in Binghamton, NY, or webcast over the WHRW Website.

12-05-05:

All four of our series reach their Season Finale's tonight! Well, Epic Echoes is really reaching its Season Premier. And Tract or Fiction? doesn't really have anything finale-like about it. But this is the last episode of all four series for the semester. I wrote all of the episodes this week (except for Tract, of course).

And of course, the original scripts for each episode has been put up as well.

Don't worry, everyone... ALL FOUR of these series will return next semester! I would estimate early February as the most likely date of their return. Keep your eyes on this site for news!

10-04-05:

Man, this was a big update... Seriously. The biggest one ever. Yes, this update was bigger than putting up the site originally; that's how big it was.

How? We finally got onto a different provider, and now I've got enough space to put up mp3s of all my radio series! I have been waiting for this for so long. Seriously. So- what went up?

Decker & Hayes - Created By Jordan D. White
An original radio serial about a pair of lesbian detectives that premiered on Welcome to the Wax-Work. Stella Decker & Macy Hayes are the best dicks in Parlortown, but in a city of crime, what good can be done? Who needs a diamond when things are this rough? Mp3s of the entire series- all of Series 1, 2 episodes of series 2.

Epic Echoes - Created By Jordan D. White
Epic Echoes: the Backwards Series tells the tale of Max Thornfield and the Flashpack, interstellar adventurers and defenders of the planet Earth. The odd part is... it tells the story backwards. Follow the 'pack back to the beginning of their tale, as they "un"beat all the threats to the planet! Mp3s of the entire series - which is 2 episodes, so far.

Guard Duty - By Jordan D. White
The Earth Guard - the planet's most powerful heroes united. From the Guard Tower, they watch over the citizens and spring into action at any sign of danger. To that end, the Guard take shifts monitoring events all over the globe. Sooner or later, they all have to take a shift of… Guard Duty. An ongoing radio serial about heroes... waiting. Mp3s of the entire series - all six of Series 1, and 2 episodes of Series 2.

Saint Red - By Jordan D. White
Red Cain did not have much of a life to speak of until made a Saint by the mysterious Christian Corporation DI&R. Despite Red's best efforts, he can never go back to a boring life again. Serial Fiction, funny, serious, who knows. Mostly funny. Mp3s of the 2 complete radio series, 13 episodes each.

Tract or Fiction? - Created By Jordan D. White
Host Frank Allen and company examine the works of Jack T. Chick, examining one tract per episode then debating it's validity. Lots of goofy fun is had and we pretend something has been learned by the end. In reality, it's just all in fun... but what fun it is! Mp3s of the entire series - all of Series 1 & 2, and 2 episodes of Series 3.

In addition, all the new scripts to Decker & Hayes, Epic Echoes, and Guard Duty have been updated. I plan to keep up with both the mp3s and the scripts on a weekly basis as we go through this season. Wish me luck!

8-15-05:

Guard Duty - By Jordan D. White
NEW 8-15-05 - Episode 6: Turning the Table

To that end, the Guard take shifts monitoring events all over the globe. Sooner or later, they all have to take a shift of… Guard Duty. An ongoing radio serial about heroes... waiting.

I have some good news: the site is getting a major upgrade as far as disk space goes. What that means is that at some point in the forseeable future, all the audio from Welcome to the Wax-Work is going to be available on the site. That means the audio versions of Saint Red, Decker & Hayes, Guard Duty, and Tract or Ficiton? as well will all be up here for download. Good stuff!

6-27-05:

OK, I was planning to begin posting the new radio serial, Guard Duty, today, however, I have decided against it. The plan was to post the scripts to Guard Duty up here on the site the same day the episodes make their aural premier on the radio. That still is the plan, in fact, but the broadcast premier has been pushed back, unfortunately, to July 11th. Why? Well, because on July 4th, next week, I am going to be in Connecticut, and not on the radio. So, I am going to start Guard Duty upon my return, so as to present it in a more uninterrupted fashion. Sound good?

Also, I officially have a scheduled summer show on Monday nights from 7-10 on WHRW Binghamton, so you can all listen in. Except next Monday, as I said.

Oh, and one more thing- this morning I've begun doing research for the third book of Saint Red. I hope to begin the actual writing later today. Once that is up and running, I will, of course, begin posting it on the site as well.

6-20-05:

Adjective Noun - Lyn Nelson & Jordan D. White
NEW 6-20-05: And In Time
Jordan & Lyn formed Adj. Noun in late 2003.Though the two have very different lyrical styles, they hope to continue to work together for as long as they can stand eachother. A new song was just added to the group's repetoir... And In Time: a song about a botched robbery... sort of.

Rhapsody in Wax - By Jordan D. White
NEW 6-20-05: Wax-work Theme U (Ursula)
Begun the first month wax-work.com was up and running, this is where Jordan writes new "Theme Songs" for the site. Many different styles of music, lots of different uses of the word wax, lots of songs, one begining with each letter of the alphabet, up to the letter U so far. Theme U is a up beat little rock song about love and traumatic injury.

So... I revamped the entire site. As I am sure you can tell, if you are a regular viewer of the site. The biggest change is that I took down all the works that weren't by me. Now the site is only for things I worked either alone or in collaboration. Big change, I know. In addition, there are some new things up here.

Decker & Hayes - By Various Writers
Created By Jordan D. White

Just added to the newly revised wax-work, an original radio serial about a pair of lesbian detectives. Stella Decker & Macy Hayes are the best dicks in Parlortown, but in a city of crime, what good can be done? Who needs a diamond when things are this rough?

Saint Red - By Jordan D. White
Red Cain did not have much of a life to speak of until made a Saint by the mysterious Christian Corporation DI&R. Despite Red's best efforts, he can never go back to a boring life again. Serial Fiction, funny, serious, who knows. Mostly funny. Book Two, "This Year's Model", is finally complete! That's 4 episodes that have never been seen before! WOW!

White Noise - By Jordan D. White
Jordan D. White does a handful of odd covers, some in fully orchestrated a cappella, some with keyboard. Good fun to be had for free. Some of these I did ages ago, some recently, but I never had them on the site before. Well, now I do.
